Eleonora Anna Giorgi lives in Milan, competes for the Fiamme Azzurre, and trains at the XXV Aprile field. After her start in middle-distance running, she approached race walking after an injury, which put her on a path that would land her on the world podium.
She is the European record holder for the 50 km race walk and won the bronze medal at the 2019 World Championships in Doha. But Eleonora doesn't just win on the field, she has a master's degree in Economics of Public Administrations and International Institutions from Bocconi University in Milan, and a master's degree in Sport management, Marketing and Society from Bicocca University in Milan.


Palmarès

  • 2013 - gold medal at the Mediterranean Games Mersin (Turkey) and 10th at the World Championships in Moscow.
  • 2014 - 5th in the 20 km distance at the World Cup of Race Walking in Taicang (China); 5th at the European Athletics Championships in Zurich; and 2nd in the IAAF Race Walking Challenge.
  • 2015 - silver medal in the 20 km distance at the European Cup of Race Walking in Murcia (Spain); and 2nd in the IAAF Race Walking Challenge.
  • 2016 – Selected to participate in the Rio Olympics based on results from the IAAF Race Walking Challenge and World Cup of Race Walking
  • 2019 - bronze medal in the 50-kilometre race walk at the World Championships in Doha, Qatar.
