Ruggero Tita
Disciplina: Sailing, Nacra 17 Foiling
Born: Rovereto, March 20, 1992
Ruggero Tita has been passionate about sailing since he was very young. He has been a member of the national team since age 12; he has won the title of Italian champion in the Optimist class; and he has scored the title for both the Swiss Open champion and European champion. He raced in the 29er class before moving up to the 49er class. He rose in rank in no time and almost immediately became the Italian 49er champion. He represented Italy at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in the 49er class after prevailing in national competitions.
Following the Rio Olympics, Ruggero decided to get involved in a new adventure on the Nacra 17 Full Foiling, a boat that’s strongly connected to his passion and experience. His passion for speed and the sensational novelty of the new boat led him to undertake this new adventure, thanks to the experience he gained on the 49er, in kitesurfing, and especially on the Moth, the foil boat par excellence.
Ruggero belongs to the Fiamme Gialle sports group, he is a computer engineering student at the University of Trento, and he is passionate about kitesurfing, snowkiting, freestyle skiing, snowboarding, and downhill skiing.
