Cross country skiing
Born in Ivrea (TO) on March 3rd, 1992.
Greta lives in Gressoney Saint Jean with her partner Federico Pellegrino. Around 5 years old she starts her first cross country skiing basic course along with a downhill course. She has then been immediately oriented to cross-country skiing. She grew up with a group of close friends in the Ski Club, including Francesco De Fabiani. "I chose cross-country skiing because my sister practiced it at a competitive level. Until the age of 16 I practiced it in the Gressoney Monte Rosa Ski Club, then I joined the Asiva Committee. At the youth level I won 12 medals at the Italian Championships (individual and relay). I joined the national team during my last junior year, then I alternated years between U23 team and A team. I joined the Gruppo Sportivo Fiamme Gialle on January 09th, 2013. My best placement in the World Cup has been 11th in the Lenzerheide Sprin. I won 3 medals at the Italian Team Sprint Championships and 2 Silvers at the Italian Sprint Absolutes. "
On January 27th, 2018 she came in the top 10 for the first time in a World Cup individual competition, finishing 9th in the freestyle sprint in Seefeld, Tirol, Austria. The following month she participated to the Pyeongchang 2018 Olympics, again in the sprint race, she finished 32nd,with a timing of 3'25 "54, in the qualifying round, not making it to the quarterfinals.
She is in a relationship with Federico Pellegrino, a cross-country colleague, also a sprint specialist, he won the World Cup in 2016, world champion in 2017 and Olympic silver in 2018.
