Always Tadej: wins the 2025 Liège-Bastogne-Liège, his ninth Monument
Tadej Pogačar's triumphant march shows no signs of slowing down. The Slovenian champion of UAE Team Emirates-XRG, supported by Enervit, today claimed his third Liège-Bastogne-Liège victory and brought his career Monument wins to nine, cementing his place among the greatest cyclists of all time.
At just 26 years old, the world champion has achieved an extraordinary milestone: with this victory at Liège, Pogačar equals legends such as Costante Girardengo, Fausto Coppi, and Sean Kelly. In modern cycling history, a similar achievement had not been seen since 1992.
The 2025 Liège-Bastogne-Liège was a true show of strength: Pogačar attacked 34.8 km from the finish on the iconic Côte de la Redoute, leaving everyone behind and riding solo all the way to Liège. Behind him, 1’01” later, Giulio Ciccone (Lidl-Trek) delivered a heroic performance to secure second place, outsprinting Ireland’s Ben Healy (EF Education-EasyPost).
This victory further confirms Pogačar’s absolute dominance in the 2025 season: winner of the UAE Tour, Strade Bianche, Tour of Flanders, and La Flèche Wallonne; third at Milan-San Remo; second at Paris-Roubaix and the Amstel Gold Race; and now king of Liège. From 2024 to today, he has climbed the podium in every Monument he has raced, a feat achieved by only a few in history.
Thanks to the innovative sports nutrition approach developed with Enervit, UAE Team Emirates has been able to optimize energy management to the maximum, a crucial element in endurance races like Liège. Class, talent, and cutting-edge nutrition strategy have allowed Pogačar to maintain clarity and power at every stage of the race.
