Pogačar triumphs at Strade Bianche 2025 despite a crash
Tadej Pogačar has accustomed us to epic feats, but this time he outdid himself!
An incredible victory, achieved after an extremely tough race, which was also marked by a crash 50 km from the finish. The UAE Team Emirates phenomenon got back on his bike, caught up with Pidcock, and dropped him for good on Colle Pinzuto. In third place, his teammate Tim Wellens put in a great performance.
The race was the fastest ever, with an impressive average speed of 40.7 km/h. The show began 77 km from the finish, when Pogačar and Pidcock broke away on the Monte Sante Marie sector. Then, with 52 km to go, the twist: the world champion slipped on a descent. A moment of fear, but one glance was enough to see he was ready to get back up. He recovered, accelerated, caught Pidcock, and then, with 18 km to go, delivered the decisive attack. No one could follow him: the finale was a thrilling solo ride.
Founded in 2007, the Strade Bianche has quickly become one of the most fascinating classics in world cycling. Characterized by its gravel roads winding through the stunning Sienese hills, this race has been dubbed "the northern classic of the south of Europe." Winning here means mastering dirt and dust, brutal climbs, and a relentless course: a true test for champions!
With this victory, Pogačar equals Fabian Cancellara, becoming only the second rider in history to win Strade Bianche three times. And, as tradition dictates, he will now have a milestone along one of the race’s gravel sectors. A tribute to a champion who continues to rewrite cycling history.
Making this feat possible, beyond Tadej’s steel legs, is also his meticulous preparation. And this is where we come in: we are proud to support him and the entire UAE Team Emirates as the Official Nutrition Partner. Our Enervit C2:1PRO line has been developed precisely to ensure maximum energy and endurance—before, during, and after every great performance.
