Nadia Battocletti

Discipline: Atletics
Born: April 12, 2000
Nadia Battocletti lives in Cavareno, in the province of Trento, in a family of athletes: her father, Giuliano, now her coach, was a prominent marathon runner and middle-distance runner, and her mother, Jawhara Saddougui, was a strong 800-meter runner.
Nadia showed talent from a very young age, taking part in local and regional competitions with excellent results. She began to make a name for herself nationally in 2016, when she won the Italian title in the 3000 meters at the Italian U18 Championships. From that moment her career has been in constant ascent, and with commitment and passion she achieved an impressive series of victories and prestigious placements.
In 2019, Nadia won the Italian title in the 5000 meters at the Italian Senior Championships and took part in the European Cross Country Championships in Lisbon, winning the gold medal in the Under 20 category. This result demonstrated her versatility and her ability to compete at high levels in different middle-distance disciplines.
In the following years, she won the gold medal in the 5000 meters at the European U23 Championships in Tallinn, with a time of 15:37.39 (personal best of 14:58.73), and represented Italy at the Tokyo Olympic Games, earning an honorable seventh place in the 5,000 meters, in a competition of the highest level.
In 2022 she achieved her first absolute Italian record, in the indoor 3000 meters with a time of 8:41.72, in the 5 km road race (15:13), and her fourth consecutive gold medal at the European Cross Country Championships.
In 2023 came her debut in the 10,000 meters, immediately crowned with the Italian title, and she broke the Italian record both in the 10,000 and in the 5,000 meters.
In 2024 Nadia Battocletti became the very first Italian athlete ever to win two gold medals in a single European Athletics Championship, dominating first the 5,000 and then the 10,000 meters.
The 2025 World Athletics Championships once again saw her as a protagonist, with a silver in the 10,000 m and a bronze in the 5,000 m!
Nadia joined, together with Pietro Mennea and Francesco Panetta, the highly exclusive club of the only Italian athletes to have won two titles in a single edition of the World Championships.
