SODIUM LACTATE
Immediate mitochondrial fuel.
Used directly by the heart and slow-twitch fibers potentially reducing glycogen stores depletion.
GEL MIX
Mix With Water
Mix with 500-750 ml of water and drink during prolonged, high-intensity exercise.
Benefits
Enervit C2:1PRO Lactate Gel Mix combines carbohydrates with lactate, an additional oxidative fuel for exercising muscles. By providing an extra energy substrate during exercise, it expands fuel availability when demand is highest.
Lactate, only when provided in anionic form (e.g. as sodium lactate), helps provide an alkalizing load during exercise. This can contribute to buffering capacity when high-intensity efforts place greater stress on acid-base balance. Lactate Gel Mix is a source of sodium. Take other sources of sodium into account when planning your overall supplementation strategy.
Oxidation rate
Preliminary evidence shows that lactate may be oxidized more rapidly than glucose. In the early stages following ingestion (45 minutes), lactate oxidation was approximately 60% higher than that of glucose.
The advantage lies not only in having an additional energy source, but also in how quickly it becomes available: a large proportion of lactate is already oxidized after just 5 minutes, making it one of the most readily available energy sources during intense physical exercise.

Why lactate
Lactate is now recognized as a key metabolic intermediary rather than a waste product. According to the Lactate Shuttle theory, developed by Prof. George Brooks, lactate produced by fast-twitch fibers in one tissue can be transported to and oxidized by slow-twitch fibers within the same muscle, in other muscles, or in organs such as the heart and brain. This dynamic energy exchange allows lactate to act as an important oxidative fuel during exercise, supporting whole-body energy metabolism.
The science
Foundational science
Author of the Lactate Shuttle Theory, he redefined modern physiology, demonstrating that lactate is not waste but a principal oxidative fuel and central regulator of energy metabolism.
Applied performance science
More than three decades of experience in translating metabolic science into elite sport, pioneering high-carbohydrate fueling protocols and co-developing the formulation for real-world race performance.
Product developer and enabler
A longstanding commitment to turning cutting-edge science into practical nutrition, bringing the concept to a definitive formulation, taste and packaging for the world's best athletes.
How to use it
Add C2:1PRO to between 500 and 750 ml of water. Mix well to create a drinkable dual-fuel secret weapon delivering the carbohydrates and lactate you need to power through the finish line.
Pour the entire 130 ml pouch into your bottle and add 500-750 ml of water.
Sip gradually throughout high-intensity training and racing as part of your fuelling strategy.
Sports
In the final hours of long stages and Gran Fondo events, when energy demand outstrips absorption. Officially debuted at the 2026 Tour de France by UAE Team Emirates XRG.
Deploy on the bike leg as you build the foundation of a strong finishing run. Tested by elite athletes in preparation for the IRONMAN™ World Championship in Kona 2026.
From long trail races to ultra-distance adventures, when performance depends on maintaining energy availability over many hours. Developed and tested with elite trail runner Francesco Puppi, it’s perfect for use in soft flasks during extended efforts.
For the demands of marathons and other road racing, where sustaining energy availability is key to maintaining pace and performance.
Designed for endurance disciplines such as cross-country skiing, ski-mountaineering, MTB marathon and gravel, where prolonged efforts place exceptional demands on energy supply.
Beyond endurance racing, it is also suited to sports where you have to dig deep for repeated, high-intensity efforts and sports with a strong lactate component.
TESTED AT THE HIGHEST LEVELS
Developed with leading experts in exercise physiology and proven in the world's most demanding endurance environments.
FAQs
Enervit C2:1PRO Lactate Gel Mix is a carbohydrate-based Gel mix with vitamin B1 and sodium lactate, designed to be diluted with water before use. Each 130 ml pouch contains 90 g of carbohydrates, with a 2:1 glucose*-to-fructose ratio (*after carbohydrate hydrolysis), and 10 g of sodium lactate.
The difference is the combination: a 2:1 carbohydrate blend plus sodium lactate, which also contributes to the product’s energy content. Lactate Gel Mix is designed to be diluted in a bottle and consumed in regular sips throughout your session.
Sodium lactate contributes to the formula’s energy content alongside carbohydrates. This means the energy in your bottle does not come from carbohydrates alone. The idea is not to replace carbohydrates, but to complement them with an additional energy-contributing source.
Pour the contents of one 130 ml pouch into a 500 ml or 750 ml bottle, top up with water and mix well. Sip regularly, in line with your nutrition plan.
It is designed for the final stages of long, demanding endurance efforts. The recommended use is one pack over the last two hours of intense activity, taking into account the carbohydrates and sodium supplied by your other nutrition products.
Always consult the ingredient list and allergen statement printed on the product packaging before use.
No. Lactate complements the carbohydrate blend rather than replacing it. Each pack still contains 90 g of carbohydrates in a 2:1 glucose-to-fructose ratio, alongside 10 g of sodium lactate.
