Alvar Mihlback Vasaloppet 2025

Alvar Myhlback has won the Vasaloppet 2025, making history as the youngest winner ever. At just 18 years old, the Swedish athlete broke a record that had stood for over a century, surpassing the achievement of Ernst Alm, who won the first edition of the race in 1922 at the age of 22.

Myhlback is no stranger to extraordinary feats. In 2023, he managed to prompt a rule change in the competition, allowing him to participate at just 16 years old, finishing eighth in his debut race. The following year, in 2024, he secured third place, becoming the youngest athlete ever to reach the podium in Vasaloppet history.

This year, with an exceptional performance, Alvar dominated the 90 kilometers between Sälen and Mora, showcasing remarkable talent, strategy, and endurance. His meticulous preparation, supported by his technical team and his partnership with Enervit, played a key role in his success. Thanks to a carefully planned nutritional strategy, he maintained high energy levels throughout the race, managing his pace and the challenges of the course effectively.

With this victory, Myhlback not only cements his place in the Vasaloppet history books but also establishes himself as one of the greatest emerging talents in international cross-country skiing. His success sends a strong message for the future of the sport, paving the way for a new generation of athletes ready to push boundaries and write new chapters in history.
