Tor des Geants start

TORX combines in ten days five challenges that are always tough and, as the distances and, above all, the altitude differences increase, they reach the limits of the impossible. The participants, over 2,400 from 79 different nations in the last edition, compete in the unique scenery of the Aosta Valley Alps. The starting point changes - the finish is always in Courmayer - then the race takes place on the Alta via della Valle d'Aosta, along the Gran Paradiso Park and in the Mont Avic Park, from a minimum altitude of 300 metres to over 3300 metres. There is a single stage, with a time limit that varies according to distance, in a semi-self-sufficient regime, with refills only allowed at the pre-established service points.

  • TOR30 - Passage au Malatrà: 30 km with an ascent of 2000D+ and a time limit of 8 hours. Although classified as a ‘short’ race, TOR30 requires preparation and endurance. The prize? Passing through the ‘Gateway to Paradise’, at 2925 metres of the Col du Malatrà, against the backdrop of Mont Blanc. Start: Saint Rhemy en Bosses
  • TOR100 - Cervino - Monte Bianco: 100 km with an ascent of 8000D+ and a maximum time of 40 hours. A tough route, combining the two most iconic mountains in Europe, the Matterhorn, and Mont Blanc. Departure: Le Breuil-Cervinia
  • TOR130 - Tot Dret:130 km with an altitude difference of 12,000D+ and a time limit of 44 hours. A very tough race, it is the essential passage to prove oneself up to the greatest distances. It crosses the slopes of Monte Rosa, Matterhorn and Mont Blanc, the magic mountains. Start: Gressoney Saint-Jean.
  • TOR330 - Tor des Géants®: 330 km with an ascent of 24,000D+ and a time limit of 150 hours. The ‘Tour of the Giants’ (this is what Tor de Géants means in patois), now in its 14th edition, is considered the toughest trail in the world. Limited to 750 runners, the Tor crosses 25 peaks over 2000 metres, 30 lakes and exceeds 3300 metres. To support the brave who tackle it, refreshments and 7 ‘life bases’. King of the Tor des Géants, with 4 victories and the absolute record of 66 hours, 39 minutes and 16 seconds is ‘our’ Franco Collé. Start: Courmayeur
  • TOR450 - Tor des Glaciers: 450 km with an ascent 32,000D+ and time limit 190 hours: a monstrous challenge created to celebrate the tenth edition of the Tor des Géants, the 450 is reserved for only 200 runners who have already completed the 330 in less than 130 hours. The Glaciers winds along two forgotten High Routes, on routes unknown to most. An adventure to be run alone and in absolute autonomy, with support points only in high altitude refuges. Departure: Courmayeur
