ELISA LONGO BORGHINI TAKES THIRD! VINCENZO NIBALI CONQUERS THE GIRO DI SICILIA

It was a weekend of sports to remember, starting with Vincenzo Nibali’s victory. The Shark is back, and he scored victory with an attack from afar: on a climb at 22km from the finish. He won the final stage in the Giro di Sicilia, which earned him the win in the general classification. It was a bona fide triumph on his local roads. Nibali's victory was just the prelude to the historic feat scored by Lizzie Deignan, who won the first ever women’s Paris-Roubaix. She became the first woman to etch her name in the history books of this crazy Classic, which took place in adverse weather conditions that made riding the cobblestones even more gruelling. What’s known among cyclists (and their fans) as “The Hell of the North,” can sometimes be paradise, if you manage to finish and even win it. Lizzie Deignan competed with the determination of a tiger – she raced without gloves so as not to lose grip on the 17 cobblestone sections. As if that wasn't enough, Elisa Longo Borghini managed a magnificent third place behind Deignan’s solo breakaway and celebrated the success of her teammate at the finish line. To support an epic performance like this, the racers were fuelled by our Enervit Nutrition System®.
