Tadej Pogačar put his name on the Tour of Lombardy, the end-of-season Classic Monument (236 km from Como to Bergamo). It was a winning debut for the young champion, who attacked uphill with 36.6 km to go!

Tadej gained a strong advantage over most of his pursuers, who were unable to match pace with him. Fausto Masnada launched two powerful attacks in the race’s final stretch to finish second. At the finish line, Tadej declared that he had enough strength and prowess on the race’s home stretch to beat his opponent in the final sprint.
