Federico Pellegrino

Discipline: Cross-country skiing
Born: Aosta, September 1, 1990

Federico, the second of three brothers, lived in Nus (AO) from the time he was born, but now he’s based in Gressoney Saint-Jean.
He put on skis for the first time at age 2, but rarely skied until the age of 4. Then his father, upon returning from the 1994 Lillehammer Olympics, became so passionate about cross-country skiing that he passed on his love for this discipline to his son. Pellegrino has been a member of the Moena Fiamme Oro Sports Group since December 2009.
He earned his first medal – a bronze – at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Hinterzarten. Since then, "Chicco" has never stopped. At the age of 32 and racing against athletes much younger than him, he once again climbed up to the podium’s second step at the Winter Olympics in Beijing.

Today he is the most successful Italian cross-country skier ever.

• 2 Olympic medals: 2 silvers, 1 for the Sprint in PyeongChang 2018; and 1 for the Sprint in Beijing 2022
• 5 World Medals: 1 gold (for the Sprint in Lahti 2017); 2 silver (for the Team Sprint in Lahti 2017; and for the Sprint in Seefeld in Tirol 2019); 2 bronze (1 for the Team Sprint in Falun 2015; and 1 for the Team Sprint in Seefeld in Tirol 2019)
