Ski mountaineering

Born on January 4th, 1990 in Sondrio, he began skiing at the early age of 5. It was initially his grandfather Umberto who followed and supported him in this great passion that brings 3 generations of the Boscacci family together. His grandfather brought him to see his father’s races, Graziano, who, during those years, was making the history of ski mountaineering. Meanwhile Michele was growing up and run his first races. Even if at an early age he was already showing the makings of a champion. As the years passed things started to get serious; at the age of 14, in 2004, he ran his first PierraMenta, a few years later, in 2008, he joined for first time in the national youth team. That same year he comes second in the world championship in Switzerland and second in the Europe Cup in the Cadets category, he then won the prestigious PierraMenta with his teammate Robert Antonioli. The following year he competed in the European championships in Italy and, also on this occasion, he obtains an extraordinary result coming 5th in the junior category. He won the PierraMenta again with Robert, but they are unfarly penalized to the third position; he participated to the “Trofeo Mezzalama” with his friends Filippo Righi and François Cazzanelli, but only as trailblazers due to their young age, nevertheless, they reached the finish line with the 7th overall timing. In 2010 he had a great season start, Michele won the 25th Valtellina Orobie, his home race, ran on his main training ground; he then won the first stage of the junior category world cup with his partner Robert and again with him he won the PierraMenta; he won the Italian junior title and, at the world championships disputed in Andorra, ended up taking the second place; he then triumphed at the junior world cup final, winning the 2010 circuit. At the end of the season he ran the reduced path at the famous Swiss competition "Pattruilles des glaciers"; Robert Antonioli and the Swiss Alan Tissiere team up with him. Year 2011, things get more serious, first season in the espoir category, this means competing alongside the strongest athletes in the circuit, at the end of the race two separate standings are drawn, but an espoir athlete can appear both his own category in the seniors one. The most relevant victory of the season is the world espoir held in Cluat on February 24th 2011. This season is crowned with the victory in the world cup overall classification in the espoir category and with the seventh position in the senior classification. This is also the year of the XVIII “Trofeo MezzaLama”, that Michele took on with Robert Antonioli and the Spaniard Marc Pinsac, all athletes from the espoir category, and got a surprising third place finish. Together with his friend Robert he also won the PierraMenta espoir 2011 and obtains the ninth position in the general classification. Again with Robert, they ranked second in the Tour du Rutor race. 2012 started with the victories at the Crazy Idea Trophy and the memorial Stedile, and a second place at Saalbhach at Mountain Attach 2012 behind the phenomenon Kilian Jornet. After a difficult period he comes back with a beautiful victory at the Sellaronda, where, together with Holzknecht, they set the new record on an extended track. He then got a second place at the Gran Paradiso with Antonioli, a valid race for the Italian team Top Class championship. Again with Antolioni he won the Italian team championship winning the Pitturina Skirace 2012. Won the gold medal at the Italian Vertical championship, in Aprica, in the Espoir category, fifth place overall, and second position in the Italian relay race, again in Aprica.
