The Paolo Sorbini Foundation organized on March 7 and 8, 2008 the Science in Nutrition 1st International Congress: an important event of high scientific interest and current topic of social relevance.

Sessions' concerns:

  • Glycaemic index, glycaemic load and obesity.
  • Stress – antistress, ageing- antiageing.
  • New nutritional frontiers in sports.

The most significant worldwide experiences were presented and discussed with renowned international speakers, among others the American Barry Sears, inventor of "Zone Diet" followed by Makoto Suzuki, Cardiologist and Geriatrician of the University of Okinawa and International Expert in Aging and Health, David J. A. Jenkins, Professor Emeritus of Nutrition and Metabolism of the University of Toronto and Jennie Brand-Miller, Professor of Human Nutrition at the University of Sydney.

The Italian experiences were presented by Professors Enrico Arcelli, Bruno Berra, Giuliano Fontani, Luca Mondazzi, Giovanni and Umberto Scapagnini, particularly qualified in the academic and sports topics.

More than three hundred and fifty researchers and experts from all over the world participated in the congress. An absolutely high worldwide level event, with an elevated scientific content, strongly oriented towards research, prevention and innovation.
